On Tuesday 15th of March 2016, our first Speak Up Arts event took place at THE NINES. Up and coming, and established artists came together, to present their work, entertain, and engage with audiences. Memories, was the theme of our first event. Audiences were challenged to remember, share, and explore their memories in creative ways. Artists were given space to approach their work in different ways. On the night we had, interactive story telling by Isabella Orlowska and Stephanie Harte, a dance performance by Angela Andrew, live painting by Jenny Leonard, reading of Helen Comerford's new novel, stand up comedy by Holly Kavanagh, and the sound installation 'Tape Ghosts 'by Graham Dunning.

We would like to thank all the artists that participated, everyone who joined us on the night and everyone who helped us spread the word, organise and run the event. We have already started planning our next event, stay tuned from more details.
